It's Simply Tutorial :

Step by Step Full Backup and Restore Android Phone with Nandroid Backup

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

In this session, i will show you why so important backup your android phone. It's easy to backup your android. You need something will do something step by step to use Nandroid Backup.

Here are some benefits that can perform a full backup:

Benefit

* you can stop worrying about forgetting or unable to return specific components of your phone, such as text messages – everything android backs.

* You can try the new ROM, switch between them and the original share at any time by backing up and restoring the full image.

• You will be able to restore not only your physical phone, but also to other phones from the same model. Lost your handset and get a replacement? Not a problem – most recent restore your backup and it’s as good as you have been missing.
Here are a few things to keep in mind.

Things to Keep in Mind

* When you restore from a backup image is full, you must return all or nothing. In other words, you will not be able to return * only * the photos.

* A mandatory word of caution: there is always a small chance that something will not work. Android quite stable and well tested today but it is likely that you will not be able to recover, so copy the things you can not afford to lose a place before you start and make sure you’re OK with losing the rest in case something is wrong. Please note that your contact and listing application has been supported into the cloud by Google, so you do not need to return them separately.

Material

The steps above and backup / restore itself explained more detailed below.

Step 1. Root Your Phone

Rooting is a process of obtaining full access to all functions of your phone. Think of it as unlocking your phone and allow it to do whatever you want (except for flying – let’s not try that one).
We have a complete explanation of the most important benefits that come with your Android phone rooting here.
You need root to do full backups as unrooted phone will not only provide adequate access application to do so.
Because the roots of each different phone, the easiest way to find out the right way for your model and version of Google’s Android will only “root YOUR PHONE-YOUR-TEEN-android.”

Step 2. Install BackupN Nandroid

Nandroid is an application capable of making a complete picture of your phone and restore from their snapshots.

There are various ways to get Nandroid to your phone and here we will use the simplest of all approaches – using the applications manager ClockworkMod ROM also comes with a large number of other useful things. This can only be used on mobile devices is rooted, which is why the first step necessary.
This is the easiest part. HRM, in retrospect, everything described here is very easy, but installing applications from the Android Market – what could be easier?

1. Market access Android Market app loading.
2. Search for “ROM Manager.”
3. Install Manager ClockworkMod ROM.
And now you’re done with step 2. Did I mention this is the last step?

Back Up Your Phone

Now we can perform the actual backups.
Reserve itself will take approximately 50-10 minutes and will produce a new timestamped directory on the SD card. This directory will contain all the files needed for recovery – they include your full backup.
Here, I’ll give you a preview what a full backup be seen as:

One-time Setup

Now, before we can return to the top, we need to install a special Recovery Images for your phone. Do not worry – ROM Manager do it for you automatically by simply pressing a button.

Important: unplug the USB cable during this step, because some users have reported problems while mounted flashing recovery (thanks DennGir and others).

Picture recovery which contains a boot loader to replace your original boot loader. Boot loader gives you the ability to run backup and restore commands Nandroid outside the OS. It also allows you to install ROM but we will not do that today. Because the OS can not return itself to the brim while walking, Manager ROM will reboot into the boot loader to perform the operation Nandroid.
Restoration of images varies from one phone to another model, and ROM Manager automatically figures out where you need. Recovery of this image is not created by one person – there is a big community effort behind them, and Manager ROM only bring together in one package that is easy to use. Alright, just shout – let us go there.

Warning: The images flashing most likely void your warranty recovery

* Recovery ClockworkMod Flash Select.
* Confirm your phone model is detected.
* Hang on a minute to download.

Setup only once finished.

Auto Formating Android XML with Eclipse

Hello Android Lovers, In this article will explain the problem with the handling of Eclipse on the XML file format and the best way to fix it.

People using Eclipse for their Android development for several reasons:

    * it’s the only IDE fully supported by the Android dev team
    * it has a visual Layout/Resources builder that transforms XML files corresponding visual representations
    * it’s free and open source
    * I’ve been using Eclipse for many years and am very familiar with it

In order to use the visual features in Eclipse when developing for Android, you need to install the ADT plugin provided by Google

Problem

However, one thing about the Eclipse Android development has been disturbing for some time – and it is an XML format by visual tools. If you open the XML file in Eclipse and using this Layout / Resources tab (which serves both as a visual UI builder or a visual interface for resource management), Eclipse creates an XML representation of what you are building and sewage into the files you edit. The problem is that XML is not formatted in any way – Eclipse only write on one line, which looks really horrible and basically unusable.

For example, we have the XML file is formatted with beautiful Android sample menus. After using the Layout tab to add other items, ending with a single line unindented bad for it.
\

The Solution

Here’s how to solve this problem in a way that is almost completely automated, using formatting rules that can generate the most readable file. There is no need for external devices – Eclipse provides all the needs.

go to Window-> Preferences-> an XML-> XML File-> Editor

check out some of the “Split each attribute on a new line” and adjust the other options according to your wishes (such as Indent Indent using spaces and sizes)
press OK to save options
you have to do now is to press Ctrl-Shift-F or select Source-> Format
Let’s see what my XML is not to show above:

Eclipse’s Auto Format feature is one of the best (yes, you can apply it to the Android Java code as well and nearly all other document formats).
Bonus – XML Cleanup
As an added bonus, the Eclipse also offers a choice of cleaning XML, which can do the following:
compress an empty element tag
insert required attributes
insert missing tags
Quote attribute values
source format (as above)
lines to convert to Windows, UNIX, or Mac
You can access the Cleanup option via Source-> Clean Up

Running Cleanup on we already pretty clean XML file turned the last into this:

The first option compressed the declaration to simply . Neat, isn’t it?

Final Words

+ Clean is good.
+ Uniform is good.
+ Use Ctrl-Shift-F and make it a habit.
+ Create a keyboard shortcut to the Cleanup function by going to Window->Preferences->General->Keys and use it instead of Ctrl-Shift-F (since it already formats as part of the Cleanup).
